Room Booking and Cancellation Policy

Continental breakfast is an additional £5.95 and a full cooked English breakfast is available for an additional £9.95 per person.

If you would like to book a room, please either phone us on 01244 409319 with your card details to secure the booking.

Alternatively, if you prefer to email us, please provide us with the following information to info@thecommercialhotelchester.co.uk

  • The dates you wish to stay
  • The number of rooms you require
  • The names of all the people in each room
  • A credit/debit card number (any card except Diners Club or AMEX)
  • Valid from date (OR issue number) and the expiry date on card
  • The last 3 digits on the back of the card
  • A mobile phone number
  • Your estimated time of arrival (we are open for check-in from 1500hrs to 2200hrs) if you require an earlier check-in time, please let us know
  • If you would like to make any dinner and/or full English breakfast reservations

Once we have received this information we will email you with a confirmation.

On arrival the balance can be paid either by cash or by card. Alternatively, the full amount can be paid when booking. For those wishing to pay by cash, there are many cash machines and banks within just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel.

CANCELLATION POLICY – Please read before booking

Cancellations by the client must be made by phone. We do not accept cancellations made solely by email as previously some email cancellations have shown up as Spam and remained unread. The date from which the cancellation applies will be the day the cancellation notice is received by the Commercial Hotel.

Once a reservation is made, any changes, such as a reduction of days or changes of dates or rooms, is deemed a cancellation* *and the standard cancellation charges shall apply.

Should the client need to cancel or change a confirmed booking *for any reason*, the following cancellation charges will apply:

For bookings of between 1 -2 consecutive nights

We require a full 3 days (72 hours) notice before the day of arrival (from the 3pm check-in time), otherwise the full cost of the stay applies.

For bookings of between 3 -5 consecutive nights

We require a 7 full days (168 hours) from the 3pm check-in time) otherwise the full cost of the stay applies.

For bookings of between 6-9 consecutive nights

We require 14 days notice from the 3pm check-in time) otherwise the full cost of the stay is applicable.

For bookings of 10 or more consecutive nights

We require 31 days notice from the 3pm check-in time, otherwise full cost of the stay is applicable.

For bookings of non-consecutive days (example: 2 nights booked one week then 3 nights booked the next week)

Each group of days booked is treated as a separate booking and the relevant cancellation policy for each booking will apply.

The deposit is *non-refundable*.

Clients failing to arrive within 24 hours of the first day of visit and having omitted to inform the Commercial Hotel of their delay shall be considered to have cancelled their booking and the standard cancellation charges shall apply.

Clients are advised to take out travel insurance as refunds will not be made for any reason unless the cancellation policy has been fully adhered to.
